Pretty strong. But I've said this before, and we've failed miserable, and IMHO likley to do so again, given all the recent corruption reports.

PORTIERI: Buffon (Juventus), Peruzzi (Lazio), Amelia (Livorno)

DIFENSORI: Zambrotta (Juventus), Nesta (Milan), Cannavaro (Juventus), Grosso (Palermo), Zaccardo (Palermo), Barzagli (Palermo), Materazzi (Inter), Oddo (Lazio)

CENTROCAMPISTI: Camoranesi (Juventus), Pirlo (Milan), Gattuso (Milan), De Rossi (Roma), Perrotta (Roma), Barone (Palermo)

ATTACCANTI: Totti (Roma), Toni (Fiorentina), Gilardino (Milan), Del Piero (Juventus), Inzaghi (Milan), Iaquinta (Udinese)

RISERVE: De Sanctis (Udinese), Bonera (Parma), Marchionni (Parma), Semioli (Chievo)

Lots of attackers lots of defenders not many midfielders

You could go and perform really well but I think you'll be a bit hit and miss. BTW- How fit is Totti going to be?

its funny seeing the squads and how many of each position they have, Spain are only taking 3 forwards and one of those (Raul) is hardly fit!

I would think Totti and Del Piero could be attacking mf's though so maybe he took that into thought before picking the team?

yes thats the same team that didnt take scotland seriously and tried to walk the ball in the net, and scraped an away draw.

gianluca zambrotta plays midfield as well, nice balanced squad.

Italy will always have a strond defense and a good keeper, their problem is midfield to front totti and del piero live off their names far too much roberto baggio was the last great creative force italy had imo.

what a player, one of the best i've ever seen he had so much natural awareness and ability of everything around him, its a shame his memory will be tarnished by 1 missed penalty

IIRC Buffon CANNOT go now as he (voluntarily!?!) made himself available for questioning by Police, he can't really play if he is under suspicion as it could throw the whole WC in doubt :S

I know but I think they said if the incident was still under questioning etc he may not be able to go, perhaps yes, they have finished with him so he would be OK :S

Which explains Cassano's failure to even get a reserve berth place!

I said from the start when Cassano moved to Madrid, he's ruined his future in the Italy squad.

Was talk of a Adriano / Cassano plus $$ swap between Inter and Réal, time will tell I guess.
