Who do you feel is the most under-rated player in europe or if you know of any, outside europe?
I think Ruben Baraja is a quality player, great midfielder, plays for Valencia (i think??) Seen some great performances from him in the CL a few years back, but when it comes to the occassion (paying for spain) he never really performs, hense why i think he's overlooked and quite under-rated.
Given that, please post your most over-rated player, I will have to think about this, but will dont know if i'll post it cos it might cause a riot

Under-rated...
Carragher. I know before you say it that he is known in the UK for being a good central defender of the last two years. But he just hasnt (and looks like wont be) given the chance at International level with a decent run when he is obviously better than the others (barr Terry).
There are others...but that one just pisses me off so much I cant be arsed mentioning them!!
Over-rated...
Ibrahimovich (sp?), Beckham, Rio....

Can I join in your discussion (depsite not being put on the header.....)
Since the last Euro championships I've been amazed that Joaquin hasn't been snapped up by one of the European giants, he is a class winger but there is talk now that Juve are interetsed in him, I wish that Inter would go for him as we're crying out for wingers who can provide a decent ball.
Estiban Cambiasso is another, during his time at Real he was overlooked in the Real midfield almost constantly but at Inter he has proven his quality, but on the other boot Inter have David Pizarro and he doesn't get as much gametime as he should, he will leave and go on to show his ability.
And the top of the pile for me in underated is Ivan Ramiro Cordoba, he's not that tall but he is rarely beaten in the air and when Inter decided to get rid of Cannavaro I'm glad they did it and not at the expense of Cordoba.
But I am very Inter biased!

Jules, i think Javier Zanetti is seen as a mediocre player, but i think he's inter's best. stong, quick, and when he's bursting down that wing, no one will get the ball off him, opposit side of the pitch, there's not much that can get past him.

Overated: Trezuget of Juve, either of the Inzaghi brothers, Dida (Sorry Luigi but he isn't as good as people make him out to be) and finally Ruud v.Nistelrooy, yes he can finish but anyone in his postition should be able to, for me he doesn't do anything special considering his reputation.

El Tractor is on another level for me, I watched him play when Inter were at Portman Rd in the UEFA cup a few years back and I was amazed by his quailty and profesionalism, everything he does is simple and not over complicated but very very effective - he's a legend!

I hate Man Utd but you cannot say he is over rated...150 Goals in 219 Apps for Man Utd. And his skill is getting in those positions to score, once of the thigns you cant teach.

As I said, for me he doesn't do what other can't do - unlike someone like Henry, Henry can make something out of nothing, he can provide, he can finish, he make runs, he finds space, he takes free kicks and he is a insperation to younger members of the squad, Ruud can finish, can make runs and find space but that is about it for me, he's not the complete striker package for me that he is made out to be - therefor i consider him overated but that's not to say I don't think he's skillful

RVN has got to be the best penalty taker i've seen. esp in his 1st season at MU, the keepers knew what he was going to do, but the penalty was so precise, and so powerful, no one could reach it.

he isnt made out to be the full package though. He is just a natural finisher, a goal poacher. He is there to score, not to create or do any of that other shit.
And if you want to be like that...Henry cant head a ball
