My mate got clocked doin 94 in a 60, has been summonsed straight to court. Ban or 6 points what you think?

under 100 it may not be a ban, but it all depends what mood the judge's in

Its in the grey area where the courts can give a small number of points, or treat it like 100+ on the motorway.

Karen Scotland is way different, and treats offences like this a lot harsher.

nah not a ban i was doing 96 in a 60 and got 5 points and £250 fine

I should think he'll easily get the 6 points as it was 30 mph over the speed limit. The fine will be hefty too.

If he can prove that his being banned would cause hardship to others, i.e. a family member who relies on him for transportation etc, he should just avoid a ban.

I've done 90 in a 30, and 150 in a 50.

Both at night on deserted roads.

The trick is to not do it in front of a policeman or a speed trap.

usually 50% over the limit is classified as a ban, but its purely down to the judge and your circumstances
