i was on my way home last nite and there was a speed camera on the otherside of the road. my side didnt have any lines so i went past it at 50 n i was in a 30. the camera flashed at me and i was the only car near it. can i get done 4 speeding even if there isnt any lines on my side of the road? i have been told you can

Depends on the camera, I believe......front-facing one, TRUVELO & similar, can capture you coming towards them, but if it was a standard GATSO then I'm pretty sure they can't capture you coming towards them.......especially since to do so it'd need to flash in your face, which is pretty dangerous.
Of course, the old proviso (IANAL - I Am Not A Lawyer) stands, and the above may all be completely wrong, at which point I'll expect to be corrected and/or flamed!

well it flashed as i was just about to pass it. and it was just one of the normal cameras i think. my brother has gone through it at 70 and nothing happened but my mates are telling me that there doesnt have to lines on the road any more and they can still get you?

if it was a normal gatso and you get a ticket then you can argue it and probably win, all offences caught on normal gatsos have to be backed up with evidence obtained from simple maths based on the white lines, if there are no white lines then the speed caught on the camera has no backup check and is in theory void

no my brother doesnt wear rockports but i have seen him in a burberry hat once. the flash was like a normal camera type flash and it flashed infront of me

If you went through at a normal speed then it probably wouldn't flash at you

coz on the way home we got a phone call saying my mate had been in a bad accident and was getting rushed to hospital so obviously i wanted get there as soon as poss.

well yeh that is true i think i was doing 50 the bulbs in my speedo have gone but it didnt feel like i was goin fast i carnt judge my speed
