The outside has just been completed today, its the highest apartment block in Europe (I think!), something like 580+ ft, so higher than blackpool tower. There is a massive firework display going on from the top of it now, was wathcing it for ages off my balcony but its just starting to annoy me now!

its actually not that ugly to be honest. Have been watching it get built for well over a year from the centre contre structure going up to the floors and now just being cased in glass.
I dont think he has the whole top floor, but he has one of the penthouses. I read in one of the local magazines I get here that Phil Neville has bought two of the penthouses and has knocked them through into one huge one!

Yeah, Ive got the view from the other side. Where the floor sticks out (23rd floor) there is going to be a sky bar overlooking Manc, then the apartments are above that.
Will get some pics tomorrow from my balcony, fuckin batteries have gone now during the fireworks

city centre living is huge, most house prices have stopped rising so much but apartments in Manchester keep on going up and up, and loads more apartments are being built.

Hardly the same as 70's tower blocks that were put up to deal with rising population/dolies

why?? because they are a bit fancier?? lesson should have been learned with cramming people into these
i for one would never pay that amount of money to move into a tower block no matter how fancy they try to make them

cramming people in? The majority of those apartments are bigger than a normal house with 2 bedrooms!!

Have you seen inside any of them? They are well nice these days mate. get good views if you're high up etc, i wouldn't fancy it myself but i can see why people would if they work in the centre and enjoy socialising there etc.

Yeah, they arent small flats like I think your thinking they are.
My apartment is nothing like the spec of those, but Ive two big double bedrooms that you wouldnt get in a 2 bed house, a big main bathroom and another en-suite. And the lounge / kitchen area is bigger than you'd ge tin a house. They are designed for professionals so nothing like the old flats built in the 70's!!

can hardly hear a thing in mine unless people are shouting their heads off.
That Beetham tower is amazing though, the facilities you get like a gym, pool, etc. and the use of the bar on the 23rd floor and all that shit.
