Theres a pothole in the pavement where it meets the bottom of my drive. Its been there for some time but I only just looked at it properly and realised its not actually on our drive, its in the pavement so I presume the Council have the responsibility to fix it?
Do I need to write a letter to them about it? Whats the chances of them doing anything? Never had to do anything like this before...
Its where our car wheels run over so could they turn round and say its damage from our cars therefore they aren't going to repair it?
Only want it fixed cos if its not fixed soon I'm gonna have to start putting down a couple of planks of wood everytime I want to get on and off my drive to stop my front bumper catching

go to the local council office, ask them to sort it
if they dont, go back and refuse to leave until they sort it
then go back again with the papers and then itll get done
or just do it yourself with some pollyfilla

I saw Sheffield City Council at work fixing potholes the other day:
1. Find pot hole
2. Have a fag
3. Chuck a shovel of tarmac on it
4. Reverse over it a few times with Transit Van
5. Drive off!

Its not just gravel. Its a definately a hole! Must about a 50mm step to get out of it
It is not on my drive either as you can quite clearly see the line of my drive ends before that and the surfacing on my drive is different to that of the pavement...
I'm only bothered as it means I cant lower my car anymore until thats fixed

id say its not the council that will have to repair it, cos if u luck the wall in the pic it looks as if the walls just inline with the hole there fore they will say the hole is in the bounderys on your property

Yes they have stopped the tarmac where our drive meets their path So that means the hole is in their footway...

If they say no I'll have to get something to fill it.
Will try gravel as mentioned above but bet it will wash out

just get a bag of tarmac and fill it in yourself
its a kind of cold tarmac we use on the petrol forecourt at work
much better job than the council do!

yer just goto ur local builders merchants get a bag of tarmac, normally no more than a tenner. gravel will wash out over time and will also get stuck in ya tire tread.
