just declared my three points for an sp30 to elephant and theyre putting my policy up by £345
Didnt think this would be that much of an increase as with all other insurers seem to put it up by about £30/50
Thinking of switching my policy anyone know how much im looking at to cancel a policy?

happened to me with the GSi with confused... went from £1200 to over 2k and as was already in the policy, would of had to pay the remainder to cancel it (the revised remainder that was, not the existing £1200) although i was only 3 months in at the time...
rang the insurance abundsman thingy, said they would look into it as the increase was too much and also said should only be £30 or £50 but heard nothing back

well just spent an hour on the phone getting no where asked why it would only go up by £57 if i canceled the policy and took out another. But £345 if i just added my points to mine
However i cant really cancel my policy as admin charges etc add up more then what i would be paying anyway

Most companies don't care if you have less than 6 points

But wouldn't he then have to inform other insurance companies that he's had a policy cancelled?
Also, would they not charge him for the admin fees etc?

trouble is when they work out the cost on the pro rata basis the money you get back dosent equal the full amount. Plus you then have the £45 ontop so i would only be saving about £100 in the end
But what really annoyed me was the people in the call centre they dont listen and dont have any initiative as they just quote company policies etc And their all foriegn and are friggin hard to understand
So next year im not going back
