Mate was travelling back from his gf's, quite late at night roads were clear but was behind a couple of cars sticking to 30 in the 30, so he went past them as it was clear and dead.

He is an idiot for doing that really, he's not really into cars and speeding n stuff though so I think he was just being a bit impatient.

Anyway a car comes flying up his ass and sticks there about a metre from him. He assumes its someone having some form of road rage so puts his foot down further to try and get them off him, so hes doing about 60 odd by now in the 30. I can vouch for the fact he wasnt trying to race them as he really isnt into any of that.

Anyway comes to the 60 and the car is still there so he starts caning it now and ends up doing 90 in the 60, but the car still wont budge, so he pulls over into a layby to "have it out" with the driver. the other car pulls over and my mate gets out basically to say "what the fuck is going on"

Then two coppers get out the car and tell him hes about to lose his license fpmsl.

After a lot of pleading that he needs his license for work and he would lose his livelyhood, and that the only reason he was driving so stupidly was because they wer right up behind him and he though someone was after him, they say "Consider this your lucky warning" basically give him a bollocking and let him go, he thinks they may have marked his car, but he was a jammy cunt to get away with it.

Im not sure as to why they let him off, they were in marked police car and if it would have been me I would have suspected it and slowed down, but he aint really got a clue.

Maybe they couldnt do him because it could be argued that they provoked it, and there was no need to follow him for so long without pulling him over.

I dont know, all I know is hes a jammy mother fucker

If someone decides they want their front bumper to "mate" with my rear bumper i just slow down til a bit

Had a few "incidents" where they fancy a go but best bet is ignoring them as road rage takes two to tango

This has happened before, the police should have stopped him alot sooner. He was bound to get away with it, its happened before where the police have been following someone closely, the driver has shooted it and tried to speed off!

Personally i reckon the cops just want a race, makes sense!

Police can follow you for as long as they like if they have good cause. I was followed for 6 miles last week untill we got to a well lit, public place. Then they stopped me. If he was driving like a tit they probably wanted to see just how far he was going to go before stopping him, bit sneaky but then he shouldnt have been driving so fast!

Police are worrying me lately, they seem to love my car and I get followed at every opportunity despite the fact im always sticking to the limit and what not. Looks like there begging for an opportunity to catch me out.

Can you regularly see the details of a car behind you with high headlights in the dark?
I know I can't.

If the car was unmarked then it couldn't really go to court as they're not supposed to stop without calling for uniformed assistance.

If the car was marked, no matter how dark it is it should still be very obvious indeed. Don't know what they're marked up like near you but Merseyside have enough reflective material on the front of the car that you see it when you brake. Plus the reg number will match with other police vehicles, which you can also read when you brake.

Unmarked cars can stop you in exactly the same way as a marked one, providing they have lights, usually in the front grille and at the top of the windscreen.
These also have sirens etc

this is obviously only if it is a 'Police' car and not a hired car, used by CID etc as these have no emergency lights fitted.

Just thought i'd clarify that for ya!
