Takes me ages to prepare my meals for the next day. Just weighed out and cooked 500g of rice (4 portions of 125g) and weighed out and George Foreman'd 8 chicken breasts (4 portions of 200g). Gotta wait for them to cool down now before i can put them in the fridge!

I spend at least an hour each evening preparing the next days food, whilst my mum and gf sit watching TV

Depends on what I cook.

For example. Pasta with chicken and cream sauce takes me about 15 mins to cook. Though it's not exactly difficult. I used to be a cook so I learned how to cook quickly though

Suppose it wouldn't take me half as long if i didn't have to weigh it all out.

To me it's important because i eat every 3 hours or so, so i like the protein/carbs measured out evenly between meals.

I dont quite get that.

Im obvously no expert in these matters, but surely if you prep your days intake and roughly split it into (say 5) portions it'll be ok? If it isnt then I guess you have to measure physical exertion inbetween meals too?

I couldnt (literally) live to that sort of regime. But hey, each to their own

I do prep my days intake... by weighing it out

The rice is pretty easy to divide without weighing but i have to weigh the chicken breasts out. One breast might be 90g and another may be 120g, hard to tell just by looking.

why don't you just use a whey protein, creatine or similar protein rich powder supplement which will save you a lot of hassle?

Creatine is crap. I do use whey protein. You should never build a good diet around fluids though. That's why they're called supplements - to supplement a good diet. I have 4 meals a day from solid foods and 3 from whey powder.

Thats my point though.....not trying to be arguementitive here, just wondering

I can understand the level carb/protein bit throughout the day (that helps maintain body fat levels yeah?) but surely you would need 'boosts' before workouts/exertion?

Like I said, if you dont ask you dont learn

The boost you talk of is called a pre workout meal, and yeah it has to include good levels of protein/carbs. It doesn't have to be more than any other meals though, 200g chicken, 125g rice and a plate full of brockoli and veg gives me ample fuel for a workout

I dont know much tbh but i was under the impression the 3 best times for whey protein is right after a workout when u need it for recovery and growth. Then first thing in the morning because your levels are so down and then right before you go to bed at night as your body is about to spend a long period of time without protein and can incur protein breakdown.... but i think the later applies mainly to using whey protein as a form of building muscle as protein breakdown isnt bad at night but is when you want to increase mass... Craig, this right lol?
