193.9bhp
Not bad for a little 1.6!!!
Only got the Spoon panel filter, HKS 4-1 manifold and Spoon N1 backbox on there too. Should get 200, with a Spoon 4-2-1 manifold, Spoon B-pipe and a sports cat on there B)

When comparing it to a turbo car, or one with a bigger engine no. But compared to any other 1.6, they have the same or more.

Corsa 1.6 Sport, is 109lb/ft.
Saxo VTS is about 107lb/ft.

They have just as much, if not more torque than any other 1.6 N/A car...

yea, obviously they have more torque, but the torque will be very high up the rev range making it a less 'torquey' engine

Look where max torque is, on the rev limiter. Where is max torque on a Gsi? like 4 or 5000 rpm or somthing

But I have 105lb/ft from about 5000rpm onwards. Also, a 4-2-1 should change that a bit anyway

its actually pretty immpressive that it has such a flat torque curve, honda is able to do that somehow though. I prefer engines that you can rev the bullox off anyway personally

I'm hoping changing to a 4-2-1 will give it quite a bit more midrange torque. I might consider uprating the valve train and cams at a later date, which will undoubtedly help.

youl get more low-mid torque with standard exhaust, manifold and airfilter

I'm keeping the panel filter, rather than fannying about with an induction kit. With regards to the exhaust, i'm getting a full Spoon system, which should help, rather than hinder it.

not necessarily, free'er flowing exhausts mainly help on forced induction setups, a standard slightly more restrictive exhaust which applies more back pressure will see you more torque lower down
you may find that with an upgraded exhaust you will lose some lower down but free it up at the top end of the range

Whilst I see what you're saying, i'm hoping that I shouldn't really lose torque. Out of the factory, it comes with a 4-2-1, but the previous owner changed that. I'm merely changing to a better design 4-2-1, with a very slightly larger bore centre section. I think standart its 57mm, but i'm going to 60mm.
Also, with the exception of the manifold, i've kept the standard bits, so if it makes it worse, I can change it back and sell the bits on.

My mate has turboed his VTI. They're hoping for over 350 bhp
It ran 250bhp at 4500rpm, without even being mapped!
