early engines 210 with later ones being 225

More low down torque on 210 engines

6.2 to 60 sprint

Very nice cars. My mate has a silver one
Leather recros are very nice

I don't think the Astra looks so cheap.

Thing I also tend to remember is that my Astra was cheap. The Audi of equivalent spec/speed was a considerable amount of money more.

Higher quality perhaps, but I actually prefer spending less money, being able to haggle on the deal etc. I went to Audi to trade mine in and got basically told unless I was paying more than I wanted to I would be getting a slow one with cloth seats. Fine for keen people with too much money, but personally I couldn't bring myself to be taken in.

if your buying second hand they are a sensible buy

I think you are buying alot more car for your money and they will also hold their value more granted you pay more in the first place but look how cheap GSI astra's are now on 04 plates etc and wait until the VXR has been around they will be worthless

I don't think there's that much different in what I was looking at. Cheapest A4 convertible is 15/16k, they were 26/27k when I was looking. My car has lost 10k in that time period, and so has the Audi.

Convertibles are slightly different to the S3 and GSI
S3 and GSI only appeal to a small market and S3 will have a bigger catch of people due to its name and build quality

Convertibles will always be desirable so cannot really compare to any market be it young or old people with or without families

Nice cars, but theyre not "true" Quattros, they use the same system as the V6 4 Motion I believe.
