To say they wont drive there cars between 12-5am, some nob on Radio just said "nah wont sign that, thats wen u cn drive the fastest"
This would help reduce insurance premiums for young drivers

I agree with ash too, but 12am is too early IMO, I'd say 1am or 2am would suite me better, because i enjoy going out, and driving (no drinking) and i usually stay out til 1.30

I think its a good idea, especially for new younger drivers to help them save money but personally i wouldnt incase the situation ever arose where i needed to go out for whatever reason eg if there was an accident

I think 12-5 is about right!
If I go out and im not drinking, I wouldnt mind leaving before, they said its becos people cram as many friends as poss in the cars to get everyone home, buts its HIGHER risk, obvisouyl u leave it til 1.30 then everyone will still be craming people into cars!

TBH i don't think they'll force it, i've heard about nu doing the payd thing which has different 'rates' per mile at different times.

I think it should stay exactly as it is.
It's expensive and harsh for everyone for the first couple of years.
The shear expense should make new drivers take it easy and not want any points or crashes to push up their premiums.

now that would be a better idea, as it could actually be enforced better, whereas the driving after 12 thing would be a bigger drain on police resources.

There is! DOnt drive if u drunk or over the limit
The idea is to stop deaths, in the last 5 years its gone up a silly amount of young drivers being killed, and Id guess its cos they take risks, driving "faster" at night and with too many people in the car etc after nites out

i meant it that drink drivin is illegal, and thats where all this is comin from, young driver deaths relatin to drink drivin from clubs, but people still drive drunk, so will probably also do it at a time theyre not allowed to

I know it's not related really and there is a pass plus you can do.
But WTF is the idea letting new drivers loose on the motorway with no tuition

Pass plus is a joke. Not that I'm complaining, it did lower my premium, but I wouldn't say it helped me become a better driver.

I did the pass plus!
Its down to the people, something should be done, jsut the money that will be invested and probably police time, when they dont do a great job imo anyway.
So many of my mates have been in trouble for silly things and yet we've all had systems and houses robbed and not got anything back, ever!
