Mentioned this a few weeks ago (before that Spanish guy was linked with us) that Liverpool will be sold to an investor who can easily rival Abromavich in the money stakes. Well today this issued a press release confirming they are in talks with someone that could lead to the sale of 100% of the shares (means mine too  )

no, if they get to a certain percentage (75% I believe) then they have the option to buy the rest of the shares at a set price. Its what happened at Utd, they had to sell the remaining shares even if they didnt want to.
The difference is we arent on the stock exchange, so could possibly be other rules that can mean I can keep hold of them!
We bought our shares last summer for around £3000 each I think (might of been £5000 cant remember) so if I have to sell I want double

We wont be going out and buying everyone and anyone to stop other teams getting them. We have the core of a great team already and just need the odd position strengthening (forwards and wingers). Its mainly investment for the new stadium we need.

We will see, but I doubt that we will go and spend huge amounts on loads of players. Rafa wouldnt want to do that and the fans wouldnt want it.
All we want is the 200mil for the stadium, and enough to buy some top class strickers!!

Chelsea thought the same thing mate, success is what every club wants and that means money and new / better players.

might have to join up me thinks, inflict some to quality liverpool banter to the forum!
We've got a better basis than Chelsea had though. I mean we wouldnt change the manager or 80% of the squad. The only places we really need to strengthen are what I expect the money to go on, not really on players we dont need!

But if yo didn't need many new players or anything then you would be top of the premiership, i say you need around another 4/5 players.
A big / decent squad is vital nowadays.

if we had strikers who could score then we would be up there challenging you. The majority of games we have lost or drawn this year have been down to controlling the game but not scoring (Man Utd, Charlton, Midds, Birmingham, etc.)
Our defence is solid, we've only conceeded 3 more goals than you this season plus we still have Paletta to come in and Agger to fit in and will strengthen us even more.

The board are valuing the club at over 200mil. There are currently around 53,000 shares issued so that makes them approx £3700 each. Means I'd make £700 per share.

if it does happen you will not recieve the same funds to buy players as chelsea have

we wouldnt need the 300mil plus that chelsea have spent to get to their level. 200mil for club, 200mil on stadium, 50mil on players means will cost about 450mil to buy with expenses they'll need to spend aswell.
Also, if the talks are right of it being this Mittal fella, he is richer than Abromavich so could easily pump the same amount of money in if he wanted!

FFS, why hasnt this been stopped! we need to stop investment in football via rich businessmen.
I feel real sorry for the like of arsenal and man utd, who have built their money from success and then getting good sponsors from the success. Not like chelsea, who have spent god knows how much and still cant win the champions league. FIFA need to stop it!

people need to remember this isnt going to be another Chelsea, someone isnt going to come in and blow 300-400mil on players!!
We'll get money for the new stadium (good for english football) and some money (no more than Utd have available) to strengthen the team. The club will always be run as a business, unlike chelsea where making a profit isnt important!!
