I believe that if you willing to go eat out of the hotel (with most of them being all inclusive) it is very cheap for a 3 course meal...
I was going to go in January although the other half didnt fancy it.. going feurteventura instead

Yes maybe but some places i believe you can get some nice food. I also believe and have been told that the hotels are AI due to the fighting and violence outside the resorts hense why they are either set on the beach or have miles of gardens.. how much this is true i dont know..
But egypt looks like a lovely place! And don't forget ure suncream haha!

If u want i can send u a couple of pics from the hotel if you want?
im not quite sure what u mean by the all inclusive bit/ We went B&B just ate at the hotels resteraunts or went into the nearest town on the shuttle bus. Twat awesome 4 of us ate at hard rock cafe in style for £26

I have been to Egypt 7 times now.
1st went when i was 12 and did my open water Padi course.
basically Sharm has changed hell of a lot, when i 1st went it was juts a single row of hotels opposite the beach and that was it.
Now theres a hard rock cafe, ice skating rink and i really dislike it but dont be put off. I just prefer more cultural places.
Sharm el sheikh isnt acually where you will stay, el sheikh is a fishing town and where all the dive boats live for a weeks liveaboard.
Sharm el Maya - naama bay is where most people end up.
Its cheap to eat out, but again be wary of where you eat make sure its a decent place as there are hundreds of restaurants now including a maccy d's!
Look on the beach front for Red Sea Diving College - when i stayed there it was dorm rooms with 8 mixed sex and communial showers. If its still there that is!!
The sanafir hotel on the same street as maccy d's is good if it still has the garden out the back. Hire a sheesha pipe and some flavours, enjoy a nice beer and toke away on the sheesha pipe under some bedouin tents.
I would reccomend the quad biking as well, again im unsure of how this has changed now. Was about £10 for 3 hour ride into the mountians, have a beer with some bedioun guy with a fridge in the mountains
If your going to get a day boat for some snorkelling be very wary as anything close to sharm has been smashed to bits now.
Look for anything going to the Ras Mohammed national parl, as this is a wildlife reserve and beautiful.
Especially Shark and Yolanda reef.
If you get offered straights of tiran then make sure your a good swimmer and confident snorkeller as its 500 metres deep there and no where to stand on when u leave the boat if you panic.
But turtles/sharks/dolphins can all be spotted here!
Emperor divers, red sea diving college, oonas divers, divequest, prodive are the ones to book through!
Myself and my dad are both instructors so we now whose good and whose not.
But if you go there dont just veg on the beach or by the pool, get out of naama bay in a crazy taxi for about £3 and check out sharm el shekh old town!
If going with the missus tell her to cover up a bit for the day here as locals love a woman to chat up and pester.
When you have shop keepers come out, dont be rude in egypt, just say no thankyou and keep walking. And dont say your from manchester/london or like del boy or you will be there for hours
If theres anything you want to know then feel free to ask me

Never been to Sharm-El-Sheikh, Cairo is smog city, Alexandria is quite nice though.
You will probably get ripped off by the locals because you are white foreigners, but while you lot moan about "the locals" you should bear in mind it is a very POOR country, not a wealthy western country such as here for example, hence the begging and the shopkeepers trying to make you buy stuff you don't want to.
If you bear the above in mind, you should have a fantastic time.
Oh and if you can speak Arabic, even better! Ma'salaama!
