IMO Bauer are the best without a doubt, I have Bauer Turbo Quads and they were superb, I then swapped them for a pair of Graf quads and the Grafs were complete turd.

Them them away.

As for ice skates, I dunno, never bought a pair but I'm a very competent skater.

i used to skate but havent been since i was 17 a lot of my mates played hockey stated skating at 13 went 5 evenings a week with a group of mates so was pretty good

and i agree Bauer are one of the best makes for skates

also something i found is ur best getting the skates as tight as posible we used to get them a size smaller than we would wear trainers

Fair few chavs yeh but their asbo kicks in at 9 so they clear off

They do the bit where only people with their own skates can go on - we been on sunday nights anyway but only about 15mins or so.

Going over on Thurs night this week

I had'nt been skating for about 9 years when I went again, was fine, I was bought up on quads so ice skating was slightly harder but I could still do it, stepping over, going backwards etc, its all the same principles.

The hire skates you get are leathal, the ends don't curve up so when you start stepping over they get caught in the ice and you fall over ( I made this mistake twice)
