Did you see that list of 60+ people who've had engine conversions? I'd feel safer buying an engine that was simply replaced for more power.

i refuse point blank to go for a C20XE conversion though, it goes against all ive ever said, and its not for a road car, it will be track useage only, so i want something smallblock

I don't think you get me..... what i meant is you could have the X16XE that someone has removed from their car so they can put a C20XE in it. Especially bought from someone on here/MIG who knows how to remove it correctly.

x18xe1 is a smallblock engine, as is z18xe, based on the 1600, so still lighter then the 20xe's, and will use a smaller lighter gearbox as wel?

i wish to use an F15, and i want it to mount in the same way as the 1600 does, and i dont want to use big shafts/hubs/ heavy mounts etc

carl, F16 is a big block gearbox dude
also, if i use a Z18 or X18XE1, i can get all the benifits of the 2 litre, and the 1.6 in one useful package
