Predictions for this game 30mins before kick off....
I personally think its a Liverpool win, but Gerrard is on the bench due to a dead leg from Saturday.
Probably 2 or 3 nil I think.

Benfica 1-3 Liverpool
Can't see Benfica causing many problems, but I reckon they'll bag a goal.

Garcia is getting me so fucking angry. I know he is meant to be the creative spark and that means he will occasionally give the ball away but he is just passing it to their players everytime he gets the ball

eh?
Gerrard just about to come on and Cisse is already on. We really needed that pace upfront, hopefully can brek these down as the win is there for the taking really.

1-0 down
We've been all over them and then they take a goal in the 83rd min. I just hope Benfica play like that at Anfield as will get thrashed, they have played aswell as an average at best Premiership side.

finished 1-0.
Pissed me off as it was a game we should of won. They werent that good, and we should have gone 1 or 2 nil up in first half. A 0-0 draw should of been the least we went home with
Cant wait for the home leg in 2 weeks. Got some tickets for it so will expect a good atmosphere and a couple of goals win.

If they score at Anfield Liverpool have had it because they didn't look like they were gonna create one goal tonight never mind 3.

yeah, and Benfica looked soooo dangerous
If you look at our results at Anfiled in the Champions League you can tell we are going to win. The atmosphere will be so loud Benfica wont know whats hit them

i didnt watch the game. was 1-0 a fair result?
milan drew 1-1 fair result, happy with the away goal. should be a tight second leg in San Siro. Munich looked very sharp, but tired at the end, Milan could have nicked it.

No, Liverpool dominated the match. That was pretty much their 2nd chance in whole game.
If Benfica play like that at Anfield I have no doubt we'll still go through.

Benfica didn't look that dangerous however they did score a goal which changes everything. Liverpool have to score in the second leg which may free space for Benfica. You didn't dominate you had a lot of the ball there is a difference.

There is a difference if the other team still had chances.
We were away from home, and had the majority of the ball + chances, I would say that is dominating a game. I have no doubt we'll go though, just it should of been alot more certain after this game.
BTW- You a Utd fan?

How'd you guess? It was a different Liverpool team tonight to the one we saw on saturday. The team we played on saturday harried the ball passed well got the ball in the box and made Van der Sar work hard. Tonight they had the ball but didn't threaten I can't remember the Benfica keeper having to make a decent save.

not sure how I guessed
I agree we werent the same team that pressed and pressed on Sat, but 46 games into a season and thats going to happen (a Utd games makes you pass those boundaries). We should of atleast taken a 0-0 draw away with us but thats football and we didnt. The home leg should hopefully be alot better, but if not its only the fact we still dont have an out and out striker that means we were second best....god help everyone else when we do
