Looking to get myself a cheap but okish car for a couple of months. Thinking of an E36 M3, always thought they were naff but for what I want/money it seems an ok buy? Would probably avoid the Evo model as I don't fancy replacing the Vanos if it hasnt been done and goes tits up. The normal 3.0 model seems to be dirt cheap and in reality isn't much slower IIRC Anyone had one/driven one etc? Found a few tidy ones with 70/80k miles which look alright.

Not sure, 6-7k I guess? Don't want to spend too much as I just need a run about for a few months - maybe till end of year.

Have had to buy 50% of my property from my ex girlfriend, coupled with fact I gave her the S Works etc to offset some of the cost - need something cheap for a while until I sort everything out and I don't fancy driving a Fiesta

Exactly, most cars will depreciate after 7-8 months, reckon if I bought the M3 I could *probably* get my money back if it's clean.

If you spent 100 quid on a banger, the most you would lose is 100 quid.

If you spent 100 quid on a banger, the most you would lose is your dignity.
