what do you lot think of them cus there are some ridiculously cheap ones on autotrader, considerin the age and mileage of some of them.
Ive personally always loved the shape, style (no need wotsoever 4 a bodykit imo) etc and have 3.5k tops to spend on a new car. And yes i cud get a fully kitted up corsa 4 that (and its really tempting) but with a bodykit and low springs it dont stand a chance on the country lanes where i live and i wanna be able to drive a dam site quicker than 40 all the way home.
I also have full workshop capabilities aswell as mechanical experience, meaning all the little problems that these town folk hate them 4, with no mg dealerships, shud be only minor problems. And all the parts are still dead easy to cum by. So the fact that mg/rover has packed up dont bother me in the slightest.
Id probably be looking at the 1.4 105bhp, which seems decent 4 a 1.4 although with all the weight it only does a 10 flat 0-60, but both the 120 1.8, and the 2.0td versions are even more impressive, for little extra cost. The addition the half leather sports seats, vivid paint colours and goodies that cum with the + range make it very tempting indeed, OR am i just fallling into the sales rep. trap? Any of owned or driven one? any thoughts appreciated.

engine alright when they work, handling isnt bad, but reliability is poor, and the interior is screwed together worse.

My dad has a ZR160 1.8 158bhp. love the styling on the car, leather interior altough the dash lets it down, engine just loves to give power.
On the down side they loose value quickly

this is my old one...
a 105 + model with optional sideskirts, blue and black half leather, rear headrests, blue console pack with matching steering wheel and full electrics including sun roof.
oh and rare Royal blue pearlescent paint..looked shit hot in the sun, really glittery

inthe pics its lowered 60mm tho

altho its only a 1.4 it is pretty damn nippy and handled cracking round tight twisty numbers/
shame it fell to pieces after 7 months

They are'nt really that bad cars, interior is pretty badly made. But as its based on age old Rover designs and engines everyone pretty much knows the faults. Straight forward enough cars and with Rover going bust they are cheap as chips. Parts are still cheap also. Main thing on Rovers is head gaskets going though.
