Right I need a decent 9-5 job over the summer as I wont be in uni.
I would love to work at a car garage or something but being on parts would be shite!!
Ideal job would be delivering cars up and down the country but I cant see that ever happening!!
Would like there to be an element of driving in the job as it would be fun
Can you recomend any jobs that could be fun? Im based in the north west (Chester)
I have done telesales jobs before and I know they are decent pay so might go back to that sort of job.
Im doing a computing course at uni so could do a technician job i guess?

want to earn 4-6k?
Then look to your local large farm. Roughly 1500 acres etc
Its what ive done since i was 15 and will do untill i finish uni. It pays for majority of my uni over the year and the cars and toys i want to buy
But its 6am start each day and finish at 6 most days, work till 2-3am on some nights and expected back there at possibly 7 the next day

Just go from farm to farm asking if they are looking for labourers over summer?
Would be good for me, live 10 miles outside Aberdeen and your never short of a sight of any cows/sheep/tractors

Doug,
Go and work for Avis in chester by the railway station all you do all day is drive there cars to and from customers sites.
I did it for a few months whilst in uni in liverpool and never had such a laugh.

Hours are 7 - 6 ish
Pay is crap if i remember correctly (minimum wage) its just a rental car that you get to drive. Good laugh though racing each other because you go out in pairs.

For me last season
6am start, refuel my tractor, grease it up and trailer, clean interior, basically get my vehicle ready,
8am - reset weighbridge, heap up corn from last night
9am - goto combine fill that with diesel -40 mins, then grease, clean filters and general check over,
11am - early lunch
11.30 am - start combining
basically 3 loads of corn from the combine - 18tonnes and then drive that from the field to the farm, reverse into shed, tip upm quickly heap up with telescopic handler and then back to the field
keep doing that untill its 12am, or untill the moisture gets high damp/rains
if its a wet day then its hedgecutting all morning/day,
if its dry enough to get on the land and waiting for crops ot ripen etc then its usaully solo'ing with a large 350hp Caterpillar tractor and 8m wide culitvation unit
its a good job i love it, but you dont have days off unless it rains too heavily to do anything and you have to work whenever your told
i got paid a flat rate of £12 an hour last summer,
work that out 12 x 12 = £144 minimum a day, maybe £220 a day
minimum is £700 a week, after tax etc etc some weeks when it was really wet i did have like 4 days off as we got ahead of work!
But that was a large farm, and harvest was 4 weeks flat out!

but the problem is, if you have never driven anything that large on the road before then you may find it hard to get a job in that line of work really mate.
Forget social life as well, and car shows from mod June - September as your arse is on that seat
