met up with some guys with a couple of tatty old datsuns this morning and headed off to elvington for a trackday, unfortunatly i wouldnt be driving but had been promised plenty of passenger rides

Got there for 9 ish for sign on and briefing, bit of time to do some last minuite adjustments and check some of the machinery.

everybody looking cool

then some unlucky bastard flipped his 200sx on its roof after track only being open about 10 mins nobody was seriously hurt i dont think.

Marshals did an awesome job as always, track was soon re open.

Corsa looking desperate to get out on track ECU light came on driving up and now it wont rev past 4k so no chance.

great day and cheers to Tom, Graham and Phil for the passenger rides.

I remember that car from donkey's years back when it first appeared in some mags with that ghastly bodykit on.

What the hell did he do to the front?

bit mnore info on the crash

[quote="Lauren"]Yep, just to confirm the guys in the roll were fine, if a bit shook up. What was horrible is that the owner was a passenger as it was his mate driving!

To top it all they were due an instructor session, if only they had done it sooner!

Thats the first roll we've seen at elvington in three years and the first time in that place. At least no-one was hurt and the apart from the front of the roof being pretty mangled the car didn't look too bad.

If it was me the mate would have been walking home ,

actually scrub that i would never hand my keys over to a mate to go round a track in the first place.

I guess this is what lead to the front bumper getting smashed up on the R500?

On the phone to the insurace company:

Owner: "Yea, I rolled it into a ditch just by the entrance to Elvington Airfield"
Insurance Company: "Oh on the same day as the rack day?"
Owner: "Er...... "

i think he lost it on a bend and it dug into the grass and rolled it. in the drivers briefing they said if your gonna go on the grass try to steer straight so you just get your front bumber damaged and reduce the risk of rolling.

Christ.

He must have been doing something wrong to get a Cosworth to understeer.

That said, those stupid rear tyres probably wouldn't help matters.
