I'm starting to think my brother is a compulsive liar.
Hes lied about all sorts of things in the past.
This is the lastest thing. He passed his driving test a week and a half ago. A week later he came home at half 9 which was a bit odd as he usually doesn't come back till about half 10 or 11. So he came in and I said what you doing back so early and he said he thinks hes snapped his numberplate.
I asked him how hes done it and he said he was in the car and started it and it was in gear so the car jumped into the wall infront of where he was parked. I thought nothing of it but said I'd have a look at his car and see if there was any other damage.
Went outside, it was dark so took a torch and his bumper wasn't sitting right, it scratches on it and there was a bit that had snapped off. he still said he had just done it by starting it in gear so i believed him. Phoned my dad and he took the car up to his mate that repairs them a couple of days later to get it checked out.
He said the whole car has moved about 3 inches to one side and it shouldn't be driven as the driveshaft could seize with the way it is 
I started to doubt my bros excuse of starting it in gear at this point but he maintained that was what had happened.
Dad phoned me yesterday and said the drivers side engine mount has snapped so got one on order. Also that the guy thats fixing the car says my bro has done this damage at speed and that there is sand underneath the car and in the wheel arches.
So looks like hes been lying all along about this. I feel like a right tit as have stuck up for him when other people have said hes done more than nudge a wall and hes been lying to me but I believed him cos hes my brother.
I think he must of been on the beach down the road from us pissing about and has lost it and hit a rock.
Sorry about the essay but I'm fucking fuming and feel like such a fool for believing him I'm not saying anything to him about it at the moment cos Dad says hes gonna talk to him about it 1st but at the moment I feel like knocking his block off 
I've never had a serious fight with my bro but I can feel one coming on as I'm sick of him lying to me and the rest of the family

Yeah he lies all the time.
About a year ago he was on about buying a motorbike off his mate. Anyway the motorbike broke so he didn't buy it as Dad said not to buy a broken bike obviously. Next thing he said his mate has another bike that he will sell to him that works.
So he bought it but it turns out that it was the bike that had been broken but cos we said dont buy it he lied and made up that his mate had another for sale. His mate bodged the old one and sold him that. A week later it went fucked and we found out the truth!
Hes always doing things like that. It might not be that big a thing to some people but it fucks me off thats hes always lying

Put an ad in the local paper with a large, clear picture of him offering ''compulsive liar for sale or rent.''
Make sure he sees it - maybe he'll get the message.

Sounds like he's stupid enough to crash in shameful circumstances and really really wanted the bike.

I agree with Ian, if you crashed and had an older brother and dad who'd be angry wouldnt you attempt to cover it up?
secondly if he wanted the bike that badly then its understandable he would lie, though it does seem pointless buying a knackered bike.

hesnot being a compulsive liar, hes just trying to cover his mistakes up, whitch by the sound of them he wasnt doing to hurt any one ect he was jus embaresed.
cut him some slack, i know compulsive liars he doesnt sound like 1.

I've calmed down from last night now. Still not happy with him though! Winds me up with how much he takes the piss sometimes!
I think he basically hasn't grown up enough mentally yet to take responsibilty for his actions so thats why he lies...
