Ok, i'm in a dilemma now.
I'm in two minds as to what to do. Do i either spend about another £5000 on finishin of my car with: Buckets, 4 pots, re-trim, finish system, XE conversion etc.
OR
Sell it soon, and buy a mint 106 Gti, do some subtle stuff and a bit of tuning and keep that.
Unbiased views please guys
Remembering it is an 8 year old car and its a Corsa

I'd keep your corsa, would seem pointless doing all that work and getting shut. What would be the benefit of getting a 106? The handling is obviously better but other than that? Its your decision at the end of the day but would seem an awful waste

Reliability issues with the XE.

Youve done the exterior/bodystyling very well with the corsa, so move onto something quick and play with the engine.

The amount of money you will plough into the corsa

I would certainly keep the Corsa and do a bit more, if you're upgrading you really should go for something bigger not another little, quick car.

I probably wouldn't go 5k on it, but you could get a valver and some shiny bits for less than that.

I know but from what i have seen an XE and a bodykit dont mix, plus it would cost about 2-2.5k or the XE conversion cos i would want it to be mint and with a little bit of tuning on it. If i was to keep my Corsa i would end up spending alot more on it as i feel i have come to far to stop, if i keep it of course. If i kept it i would make sure i got it on the cover of TV before i sod it. But i dont know whether i wanna plough so much more into it.Plus i love 106 gtis

Corsa with an XE is a nicer car but the GTi handles better.

I dont think an XE with your bodykit would be a problem, its not like its one of those fibreglass kits that will crack.

If I were to sell my Corsa I'd be going up to a bigger car than a 106.

My splitter is smoothed into my bumper and my car does have alot of filler on it. I would love to finish my car and especially if i put a tuned XE in it as it would kill most hatches if i did that. Handling difference isnt a huge issue as my car has coilovers etc and for how i drive round bends it is good enough for me. I just like the thought of having a car that is quick as it is, plus looks nice as standard. I really am in two minds

If you dont fancy putting 5k into the Corsa then sell it and buy a bigger, faster as standard car, not a GTi

I sold my sport for a 106 gti. Gti was standard and handled really nice, and i thought it was much better than my standard-ish 1.4 sport corsa. Had a few niggly problems with the 106 (gearbox and clutch), and the build quality just isnt there at all imo on the contrast they are great fun to drive and very quick. Now got a 1.8 sri corsa, its got all the extras etc, smooth drive. Thinking of selling up for another 106 with subtle mods though, more fun to drive imo and miss it. John
