It is, but it does point that out itself more than once. Even the team's called Mean Machine. It's still a class film, though.

Mean Machine is the better one IMO although I love Adam Sandler especially the first scene of Longest yard

it just a remake of the burt reynolds film. Which was better imo. The vinny jones one was just a european remake using football so people would understand it better

my mates all said the longest yard was the same as mean machine but having never seen it before i watched the longets yard about 10times and its just funny as fuck everytime.

I thought the island was shite...

Also the longest yard...another predictable shite movie...Sandler is the only redeeming factor...
