A guy on briskoda has fleet of taxis, they have an Octavia VRS that has done 320,000 miles and is still on original engine, turbo & gearbox

He even admits that it gets a spanking every night when roads are quiet as well.

show me a vauxhall or ford that will do that

Golf/bora/octavia essentialy the same underneath those shells.

I cant belive people still stress over mileage these days, someone told me that 76k on my octavia was high

my corsa has done 21940 miles, and it had done 21940 2 months ago as well

engine on the other hand, has done a bit more, but still goes strong

i keep telling people mileage doesnt matter, but do they listen.... no

People still live in the stone age though. They do not understand modern engineering and think that 100k is high milage

we have 1.7cdti astra's on 53 plates that are serviced every coupla months at my place cuz they are taxi's and they are pushin on 250-260k.

Went to tenerife in may, the old merc taxis had around 300-400k on the clocks, and they did get some stick!

Not bad. Shame i didnt have that sort of reliable experience with mine. Lets hope the polo fairs a bit better.

taxi's have an easy life when you think of it.. they are always running! after all its the stopping and starting and the cold starts and short journeys that wreck engines!

there really good one of my m8s has one its done 210k on orignal engine and still drive and sounds like new!
