What are your views on women asking men to marry them?
Tradition tends to be that it should be the man that asks the woman but that on valentines day in a leap year its ok for a woman to ask a man.
Just wondering what everyone thought of this.

If you need to wait that long, the answer should probably be no.

Because i'm old fashioned and believe its the man that does the asking, plus i wouldnt want to ask and be rejected
In case you read this Rich, don't even think about it as the answer would be no

Im also old fashioned and think that the man should ask but my boyfriend thinks that it should be the woman that asks and that it would mean more than if he were to ask

I wouldn't ask, because to me thats like saying 'well seeing as you dont have the balls to ask me' but then what if he doesnt want to get married? Then us women run the risk of looking stupid and desperate if we get rejected
Living together is enough till im in my 20's at least anyway but who knows i could ask (very unlikely) but then again i would want to choose my own ring

If a woman were to ask do you think they should buy a ring?
I mean a bloke isnt as likely to wear two rings once they are married like a woman would

I would never, ever ask. Im traditional, i think the man should ask with a ring he's picked himself. My mate was saying about this the other day, she said she'd prefer to be asked and then pick her own ring, but i think if i ever trust someone enough to marry them, i'll trust them enough to get me a ring i'll like

If your with someone and they think that they really do want to spend the rest of their life with you then they should know you well enough to be able to pick out a ring that is your taste
