Thats a total of 6 people including me and missus!!
Im upset as taken me a while searching places and ringing around to find the best place to cater for us,
I understand its coming upto xmas but if we didnt do anything people would moan, so I do and get no response!!

corsasport for you, mate of mine organised karting for novaload and it took place today, was organised about 2months ago, took him a long long time to sort it, not something yo ucan do in a few weeks! 21 people turned up to it, and it took a hell of a lot for hm ot get it sorted, pestering peopl eetc! but it was worth it. if your up for sorting it you need to give people a lot of notice and bug people all the time. im not sure about how much notice your giving as i didnt read the original post.

About 3 weeks ago as thats when they gave me the free dates.
Not to dig at anyone but people moan why there is never any meets etc,
I organise meets/events and get such a low feeback
The grasshopper is the only meet thats gone well really.
If i organised a piss up night then more people may be interested, but the idea of corsasport is car orientated and i thought karting would be good

I lost interest when I found out it was indoor karting. Though I do understand the reason's of weather etc - but would prefere to save myself £35 rather than go karting indoors (as most indoor ones I've been to have been crap). This was nothing against you brad, just my money is tight at the moment.
1 thing I notice with any sort of event is, if you say to people 'Who wants to do this...'
you'll get a mile long list of names. Then say 'Ok I need a cheque in advance' - and you get nothing. I've noticed it on here as well as PGAC. People may say 'You didn't give us enough notice' - but if you give too much notice i.e. 3 months in advanced, people A) won't know what they're doing and won't commit or B) lose interest by the time the event comes round.
People like me for example, find it far far easier to pay for something through paypal or something online - than the effort of finding my cheque book (no idea where it is) - writing the cheque, finding a envelope (I have none), buying a stamp etc... then posting it. Where as paying online = 2 min job done.
This is no reflection of the karting - as I wasn't going to come either way. But just something I have noticed and I think maybe people should think about with events like this in the future (and things like rolling road days) is - if you need an advanced payment, setup some sort of paypal thingy.
Sorry to see your time and effort wasted brad. Maybe we'll have to try to organise some karting next year when it's warmer. Matt's PFI karting meet was brilliant fun.

I also think a paypal way of sorting things will be better too,
I totally understand with the indoor karting but i wanted 20 odd people to get a good meeting going, everyone in same karts etc. With indoor karting beginners can pick it up pretty fast and hold other drivers off as tracks are thinner,
Outdoor i think shows whose good from whose a beginner!
But i shall try sort a rye house meeting in twin karts for the few of us that want to do it.

This is the key reason I hate Indoor karting. You can be quicker than the person infront of you, but you can't get past as they will block you very easily due to the narrow track, which can be hugely frustrating.
On outdoor tracks, they're so wide, you can carry the speed through a corner and easily find a way past. In indoor, you'll carry the speed through and then just get into a bottle neck part of a track where going 2 wide isn't even a option. Then if you bash the car out of the way you get put in the sin bin. Of course some indoor tracks are large enough to not make this a problem - but there are a lot that are smaller.
I'm not saying I'm the best go-karter or anything, but it's just annoying / frustrating when you want to catch up the quick guys ahead, and your trying to lap someone slower who's just getting in your way "thinking they're having a good race with you", where really you could be going twice as fast if they just moved over.
But even if it was outdoor karting, I probably couldn't afford it at the moment. Spent far too much at uni this term.
But yeh - Paypal could be a good idea (or something similar) with a pay now link provided in these sort of events, as once people have paid they'll be a guarenteed person attending and can be done when they're sitting at the pc reading about the event and have that initial interest. Generally the events that are a sucess are one's that require no advanced payment - but of course you can't risk that on yourself that people will turn up. As if they don't you'll be left out of pocket.
Anyway mate, sorry to hear about it not turning out that great for you - and hope you try to arrange something again next year
