You've completly lost me. How can it be all ?
If he crashes he will get done for not having valid insurance, so will have to pay for the repairs of his vehicle and whatever he crashed into out of his own pocket.
After this he will get charged with driving WITHOUT insurance and not contacting the DVLA about changing the details on the log sheet regarding engine size.
Top all this people wonder why we spend a fortune every year on insurance

Auction will probably get pulled for fee avoidance. If you want £7500 you should probably just advertise it in Autotrader and wait. If you want to auction it, you should allow people to bid and find the price.
And you have no feedback and the only picture in the auction has bumper missing. Possibly won't sell like that.

yeah im going in police meself so couldnt risk having void insurance you can insurance it as a 2.0 even if log book still states 1.4 aslong as insurance details are correct bobs your uncle

and wont get pulled as its a valid auction, many dealers do it this way and they never get pulled
