The guy driving is a nutter but a bloody good driver! he took me around Bedford Autodrome and spent much of the time side ways. Brilliant fun!

when i went out with him around bedford he was running slicks on the front, cheapo £15 tyres on the rears, Avo rear shocks set to hardest. soo much fun, funny thing is when he put slicks on the rear he could kick the ass out of soo many other cars it was amusing!

That is just a slide

Drifting is when you flick the car though a series of slides and not counteracting the stearing to correct it

BTW you can drift a FWD car although the setup is a bit more than what you've described and looks alot less impressive than when you do it RWD
