People doing their own bodywork.

Anyone can pay a bodyshop £xxxx to have their car looking like a magazine feature, but to actually spend hours upon hours sanding/filling/cutting/priming etc is maddness.

Spent over 10 hours doing my new bootlid and bumper this week, but it really is starting to pay off. Will definetly be appreciating the car more.

Big up Iaz/Marv etc

thing is though not that many people have the knoledge/time/bottle to start something "big" on the car IE smooth boot etc , because if they mess it up they will be buggered and in the end have to go a bodyshop for them to help out

I couldnt be bothered paying £500 for having my bootlid smoothed, simple as.

So purchased another bootlid, had someone weld a metal plate in then i've been at it with the filler and wet/dry ever since.

Bit of advice on here and lads at work and i'm getting there

Anything is possible

Yup - the thing which pisses me off is max live - i dont think companies should be able to enter their cars like the alpine single centre seat c2, that shouldnt have won, there are cars like ours which go there and have no chance of winning when someone has the money and stuff to crete something amazing. I feel good to be able to say i have done a lot of work on mine myself

The thing about bodywork is that you need to take your time. Thats all there is to it, so long as you have the basic know how before hand of course otherwise all the time in the world wouldn't help

Yeah, its good doing it yourself. Really wanna have a go at doing bigger projects but just simply don't have the time or the place at the moment. Respect to those who do do it all themselves though, will save themselves loads on labour costs from a bodyshop!!!

I agree, between myself and my old man we do all of the work on my car exterior and interior except for the engine work as I just dont have the technical knowledge. this is my second car which i've done all the work on,

i agree that companies should not be allowed to enter comps @ max live, but the mag needs those cars to sell magazines,

i no what you mean in a way mate iam going off the blend across the doors, it does look loads better in the flesh.

the corsa has always been something to piss around with and just fit things to make it different to everything alse hence the reason its been so many different colours and combinations. and if it dont work pull it off and start again.

i do everything myself so it costs minimal to do it so i just do it and if i dont like it i start again
