it is unbelieveable that my gsi would beat one of these, but it did!
i was coming home earlier tonight when i stumbled across a CTR he noticed me and we both floored it, he started blitzing me on the straights, but i was getting the backend twitching on the corners and just catching him up.
we both got stuck behind a car but i overtook the two of em and whent past him, he chased me, but i overtook another car and hung it round the corner back into the town where i live..... i was chuffed to bits
why do people buy these cars if they cannot handle them?
im no michael schumacher, but pulling away from people through handling the car well is loads better than just straight line speed.

You sure it was a Type R? The Type S looks very similar.
Just hard to imagine a 1.6 109bhp car beating a 2.0 197bhp car.
Then again if not driven correctly Type R's can perform like poo.

Obvoiusly the CTR is faster, don't think he is disputing the fact....
Think danny was braver on bends and overtaking...CTR driver probably didn't want to stack it into a tree.....

you are basically saying you drove like a plank taking stupid risks risking yours and other peoples lives. The type r was being sensible

we can't really judge how he drove, it could have been perfectly safe to overtake.

if i was driving a CTR and a billied up corsa was giving it, i would kane him on the straights, leave him for dead, and then hope he would get the point. if it came to dangerous driving around corners and overtaking cars, i doubt id risk it in my £15K ish car

He didnt say the corsa was better handling than the Type R, he said he was basically pushing the corsa to its limits, and obviously the civic driver couldnt drive Obviously if 2 people that could drive well in each car, then the civic would piss over the corsa anyday.
Oh yeah and well done

Craigos: he needs to wake up and realise hes driving a corsa. It was designed for taking old women to the shops and back twice a week. Hence why it handles like a trolley.

Fact. Ive been 'beaten' by loads of cars............main reason is that Im an adult and I wont risk myself, pedestrians or other road users to beat some chav who is driving dangerously in a built up area. 99% of the time they are in some warm hatch with 1/3 the power as well!
There is a time and a place, in traffic isnt one of them.
