Basically i've been looking around at roll cages for the Corsa B and cheapest i've seen is £418.00 exc VAT for a full cage but wont fit with sunroof. And i've seen around £650-700 elsewhere.
Theres a race prep type small business local to me (builds autograph cars etc)i've approached them and there willing to take on doing a bolt-in cage hopfully this will work out to be around £350 mark. Obviously a weld in cage will be cheaper. To get this off the ground i need 5 orders. I'm very impressed with their work and obviously wouldn't be getting them to touch my car unless they were good.
Nothing definate yet but if i can prove a genuine interest then i might be able to get this off the ground.

welded in is cheaper, lots less fabrication to be done with little foot plates etc... dunno the full reson why... but mine was cheaper to be welded in than bolted in also £1500 is a hell of a lot of money! where quoted that, what cage was it?

Obviously they arent going to be FIA spec but will be to a very high standard, i have every confidence in their work, the main propietor of the business races cars he has prep'd himself.
As Broster said, weldin cages require less fabrication.
In terms of finish we expect to be able to powder coat the cage for a nominal charge (i may even be able to include the powder coat into the cost depending on successful orders.

Couldn't believe it when I found out about the existence of these things a few years ago.
Using up all that space in your car, and to no avail
Bit like having an ornamental stereo, or a spare wheel made of balsa wood and clay or a pretend engine fashioned from sweets

if you had a crash it would actually serve a purpose, at least more so than 5 subs and a fiberglass install, or 3 chavs unless there making tn hats out of stainless steel these days

incorrect, show cages are weak and in a crash would be more dangerous than without one

that would depend on what quality cage is, not if its to racing standard, half cages are pointless anyway

half cages aint pointless at all..... show cages are pointless, the welding and thickness of the tubes can be inferior when you crash the cage has a chance of snapping ans stabbing you.
Aritchie, sounds like a good deal you have there, do you have and pictures? will it have on diagonal bar over the back or two? will the car need to be stripped out so it will fit? how tight to the body work will it be?

will probably have to be stiped to get it tight to the bodywork im hoping it is very tight. He wanted to know if there was much interest before he got involved but might be able to talk him into just getting mine done then I will have actual pics. hoping price will be around £350 powder coated
