Hoping for a remap, all depends on insurance. Eventually it'll have a set of 17" OZ superleggera's in anthracite and possibly an exhaust of some sort. Not alot more than that for the time being.

personally i would not bother telling insurance about remap if i got REVO with an SPS module. you can plug it in to serial port and return the car back to the standard map at anytime.

Thing is with 200bhp + the cupra brakes are a bit weedy. you can get brembos as fitted on the R version for £600 but the calipers are fat and you`ll have to be careful on wheel choice if you plan to go this route due to clearance.

anyway im going off on one, u prolly know all this anyway.

I do fancy another cupra though, there is a modded cupra R for sale i got my eye on atm.

I'm still learning so I appreciate the info

I've heard of the SPS modules too. But I really don't know if i'd feel comfortable invalidating my insurance policy.

The brakes are well shadey! Sometimes they are strong but others they are week as fuck

I'll own this car for at least 2 years so it'll be a nice progression of mods.

I say go for it

i believe superleggeras will clear the brembos if used with 5mm spacers, check seat cupra.net to be sure.

technically yes a remap is invalidating insurance, but imo i dont really see it like that. i mean its not a physical mod liek an exhaust, induction kit etc etc. Some people use the SPS to put back to standard map when their car is under warranty and goes in for service etc.

regarind exhaust i think best bit is the miltek system from am motorsport with the 100 cell race cat. They also do a nice little FMIC now as well. standard side mount not so good after remap especially in warmer months, heat soak city.

The std FMIC is diddy. I'd get the remap and new FMIC done together.

I tend to agree about the remap with regards to insurance. I might ask the folk on seatcupra.net to see what their opinion is. Others have said the same as you though so i'm confuzzled.

I'll keep an eye out for the Miltek jobbies.

Cheers for the tips

if I do anything to the car I buy (with have vag 20VT engine) it will have downpipe, race cat, exhaust, FMIC, brembo's and a custum code remap. don;t use as much boost as other people and you hold peak power from 6000 to 7000rpm with their stage 2 code. it's expensive though
