well i drove 10miles to see this lass, gets there cars all fine, when i'm setting off home, the car sounds like a scooby when its ticking over, i'm thinking maybe the exhurst is blowing, puts my foot down, and it struggled like fuck to go through the revs
gets home, its pitch black, but i cn see steam/smoke coming from the bonnet, takes a look, it seems to be coming from behind the water tank thingy and behind the battry, but like i say its dark so cant see, no EML no oil light, looks under the car, the cat is glowing bright orange
have i brokend her or what?? and whats all the steam/smoke about?
will it be ok to drive in the morn, just check its not lost oil and water and if it aint drive to work like normal (only 8mile round trip)
cheers for advice

well if its running on two again i would advise against it because your gonna put alot of strain on the other two pistons. Get a second opinion mate.

Will be your HT leads then at a guess... Will be unburnt fuel coming out of the exhaust and as the engine will be all jumpy and rough oil will be getting splashed all over the shop. Try new leads, dizzy and plugs.

just cheacked water and oil, lost neither, took spark plug cover off, dunno why as i dont have a spark plug remover, but i took the leads out, no water or anything, started it up, seems ok just sounds ruff, and its blowing like a bitch at the middle box, maybe this is why i cant get round the revs?

sounds like youve got a blocked exhaust if your cat is glowing.

the cat is off the 1.4 sport system, same as the rest of the exhaurst
my dad just said to me, it seems like the cat has fucked up if its glowing and by the way it sounds.

wait till its cold and bang the cat with side of your fist, if you can hear things rattling then its fooked, dont bang too hard or you may break a working cat. My dad had very similar symptoms few years back, unlucky for us we were in the south of spain at the time.

i hope it is the cat thats shagged otherwise i dunno what it could be and would no doubt be £££££
it does feel like its blocked or somthing, it goes through the revs normalish when not in gear, when driving, it goes like its pulling a 40ft trailor unit.

inlet maifold damage will cause the cat to glow red, it just means there's too much fuel going into the exhaust,
the cat will be fucked now anyway, chop it out

just jacked the car up so i could get under to the cat, knocked it with my hand, nowt loose in there, started her up, sounded abit like i was starting up a 13year old engine belts slipping under the bonnet, what belt would that be and would it have anything to do with this problem i've got?
wonder what else it could be if its not the cat broken
