I feel its time sven re-thought his squad...we need a defensive midfielder as gerrard and lampard are more suited 2 attacking!! I propose a 3-5-2 formation

Robinson
Ferdinand Terry Cole
Carrick
Beckham Gerrard Lampard Cole
Rooney Owen

Why hasnt Sven thought of this? its not rocket science

From what I've seen of Parker pre season he is a far superior player to Carrick and who would you suggest instead of SWP?

Why cant we play 3 up front? Joe Cole is a very good squad player at best. Suppose this is why talking football's so much fun everyone has got a different take.

Also i never mentioned anything about Defoe

As people have said Gerrard and Lampard are the same type of player and for me Lampard does it a little better than Gerrard does. Not by much but in my view he gains more and more quality as the games go on.

I think Gerrard is good but would he look that good in say a Real Madrid or Barcelona team, not round a bunch of monkeys like Liverpool

Downing is a must, why have a left wing without a left footer plus he likes to come inside like SWP does.
Also my argument has always been why have natural wingers (Beckham, Joe Cole) if you have no height in the box. Downing and SWP coming in from the wing would be more usful than out and out wingers

sorry but

Id have Gerrard over Lampard anyday...

i agree with the downing point..

BUT

how can anybody forget Jamie Carragher?

im sorry but even Alan Hansen said john terry and jamie carragher where the best 2 english defenders in the 04/05 season, which for me is a perfect statement.

i cant see all the hype around Rio he's not got the heart & commitment carragher has.

Personally my team would be..

---------------------------Robinson

--------------------------Terry Carra

---Neville---------------------------------------------------A.Cole
-------------------------Carrick/Parker

-------------------Gerrard------Becks---Lampard

------------------------Owen--------Rooney

Why oh why are people picking Parker? The guy is massively unproven. Played about 10 games last season and hardly shone in any of them. He was good for Charlton.............wow.

I think its your left hand side that fucks you up

Ashley Cole is a terrific player but I think he would rather play center forward, and you have bugger all for left midfield to cover cole when he goes walkies up in the oppositions 18yd box

I dont understand why England arent one of the best teams in the world and put in more of a serious challenge in major comps

However I can tell you why Scotland are shoot easily

it was one game ffs, the same thing happens with england time and time again, the press and the fans hound the team constantly.

the spine of the team is one of if not the best in europe, terry and ferdinand are 2 of the best centre halves, lampard and gerrard is the best pairing of any european team in midfield, rooney will be the best player in the world one day and owen has always and will always score goals. WHEN you get to the world cup finals you will do well.
