I feel sorry for Woody, he was the best defender I have ever watched play at St James Park. He had the potential to be as good as Terry in my opinion. Good buisiness for us on the face of it.

To be honest when fit Woody was easily on par with Terry and he made Ferdinand look a better defender than he was at Leeds. I really feel sorry for the bloke but it was easily the best bit of transfer business ever from our point of view

yeah pity for woodgate as he was a decent player, hope he comes back sometime..

as for crouch, never thought he was good enough to play for liverpool really but proof will be how he plays....Though liverpool will try long balls alot more now with him up there..

I'd snap him if I went in a 50/50 challenge with him.

well your not going to go in a 50/50 with him so we got no need to worry.

and i'm sure he has been in plenty 50/50 challenges and he hasnt snapped so far (touch wood).

gutted for woodgate tho, but why did real madrid pay so much for a player who was injured anyway when he went, so couldnt pass a medical anyway?

No, it was highlighted on sky sports about how he neshes tackles, on a less serious note without winding you up when it suits me, good height, yes, adding strength to the squad? No, Liverpool are a good passing side, no need for long ball shit.

i'm a villa fan... when he was at the villa he was shit... u can see with some players that, given time, will improve and be of use to the team.
he goes to southampton and scores a few tap in's and all of a sudden he's brilliant...

liverpool are gonna regret buying him.

oh... and 13mill on a player who been injured for so long... GUTTED

How can you say he isnt a decent player...???

He was picked to be in the england squad on merit...

I feel you dont know a thing about football...yeah he's not Michael Owen or Defoe...but at what he does hes the best (wins headers/holds ball up)...he will offer us a different option in games mostly away from home...

Why mostly away from home? Is he banned from jumping for the ball at Anfield?
