I know it was posted around the time it happened but now we've discovered he wasn't a suicide bomber the brazilian man who was shot 8 times (7 in head 1 in shoulder) is getting an apology from the prime minister and the chaps who did it no longer allowed to operate firearms...

there shouldn't be an apology at all... they shud use this to set an example! at times like this with all the bombings .etc a person wearing a winter coat on a subway in the summer who is asked to stop by armed police doesn't... wat did he think they'd do? take a chance and not shoot him... ffs there damned if they do damned if they dont!

they shoot him and he hadn't got a bomb they're wrong
they didnt shoot him and he had a bomb they're wrong

they couldn't take the chance... it's his fault he deserved to die.

and then... the brazilian government says that the recent events r worrying... i'm sorry but who goes into the favellas and kills people by the hundreds without any mercy and who before the rio earth summit made 800 odd children on the streets who beg 'go missing' in order to clean it up a bit.

Thats my two penneth! i know everyones heard about it all but i don't get why we're apologising now, he was linked to it anyway with the house he'd been visiting.

police need to start killing people more often imo, its the current state of the police force that makes people take chances like they do knowing plod's only gonna shout stop and nothing more unless he catches u.

ollie... agree

People that are innocent of any crime do not deserve to die.

I don't know what the score was with this guy and the police apart from what I've read in the media, but yes it does beg the question - why was he running away when he was supposedly told to stop.

I do feel the gun in his hands as its pointing in your direction or in the air and raised voice levels would be enough in any language to make u think you should stop...

also the POLICE across his cap

its not that they arnt allowed to shoot anymore, its standard procedure after a firearm has been used that they are taken from the personel for a few days.
tbh he had probably been stealing or something, shat himself and ran rather than get arrested like.

although from the families side, why did the police let him get onto the bus if he was a "suspect", thats what i dont get

Surveillance team was on him til then, armed response picked him up when he got off the bus, and thats when he was challenged.

the house has consisted of two floors, first floor was rented as was the second. the first floor was the second wave of terroists. but the brazilian lived on the second floor and wasnt aware according to the family.

i think they put the hats on when they gave chase with the weapons

Why are we apologising?

Because Tony Blair and the rest of the ass kissing government are a bunch of spineless losers thats why...It's their fault this country is under threat and they are too piss weak and scared to do anything about it. In most countries the police are a force to be reckoned with, here they are a joke.

If he was asked to stop by the POLICE he shouldve stopped. If theyre waving guns at you, then you kinda guess whats gonna happen if you try and get away.

Did he deserve to die? I'd say not.

Do I agree with the way the police handled the situation? Definately.

As mentioned above, had he been carrying a bomb, and not been shot, many more couldve died. Is that a risk any of you would take under 'shoot to kill' orders?

The only person at fault is the guy who got shot, what were the police officers supposed to do, they had orders to shoot to kill i anyone is suspected to be detonating a device.

The police have done a good job dealing with this and they should be praised for it.
