No alarm but full immobiser.. hense why the car wasn't taken.
Simon has since found out he's not insured. Third Party only although he did request TPF&T. an Admin error by insurers.. has left him uninsured.
A local garage has helped him by jacking up the car to allow him to get the old 'steelies' on the car and he is in the process of fitting the old steering wheel to the car. Next will be the window replacement and then car will be back on the road.

Damn that well sux, what size wheels i cant seem them going to all that trouble for some 15's? thats why i got 15's instead of 17's so i wouldnt wake up to this.
I dont bother with ice (other than headunit) since my old 5 door was broke into and they were after the ice (which i didnt have) still they took my crappy jack and some fuckin screenwash of all things. Advertising ICE on the back of the car isnt such a good idea
Got a sri now and dont leave anything worth nicking in it anyway plus a toad alarm for comfort
Hope this isnt a trend of stealing wheels or its back to the 14" standards

Harsh luck there. I've always thought ICE stickers in the windows scream to theives tho . They must have been there hours to strip it that far. Took me an 3 mates a couple of hours to fit my lowering springs!

Sorry to hear that... tis quite harshing nicking just about everything.
However regarding him being not insured is just rubbish. Surely he checked his insurance documents on which would state only third party....
Did he not ever claim any mods??

I claimed the alloys but when i got the agreement thro i just skimmed thro, signed and posted back to say it was correct, didn't notice at the time it was third party only

At the end of the day, fitting an alarm won't stop people braking into a car - if someone wants something bad enough, they will get it. The only thing you can do is try to prevent this happening in future.
Some bits of advice though:
- Lose the stickers. They are kind of like a sign that says "steal me".
- Make sure your next ICE install is well hidden; ie. speakers fitted under the parcel shelf, have holes obviously for the speakers, but say cover the shelf in acoustic felt so it looks like a normal shelf
- Don't leave anything out on display like change, head unit face, CDs, paperwork, keys, that sort of thing. If you need to keep any crap in your car, keep it in the glovebox. You can't steal something that you can't see!
- Park in front of your house, or if not possible, under a lamp post.
- And finally make sure your insurance is up to scratch this time!
Sorry if the above sounds patronising, but I bet half the people on here don't even bother with some/any of the above!
