sorry want sumthing faster than a 1.3 nova, thought of things like 205 gti 1.9, r5 gtt, uno turbo etc etc

Fastest.....probably a Charade GTi. Depends what you want. R5 GTT could be slightly quicker but let's face it. R5's are total rubbish.

If its going to be a project, then personally i'd spend the majority of the £1k on a decent shell. Once you've got a foundation, you can build a beast, but i personally wouldnt bother trying to do up a turd, and then have to go back and spend hundreds to get the bodywork looking decent .

has a cracked windscreen...
some rust bubbles round rear arches....
100k+ miles i think...
some fag burns on interior...
a few wee dents on panels (trolley type dings)
its to be expected from an 18yr old car though

certainly not the fastest, but probably one of the most fun options would be a mk1 MR2. i bought mine for £300, wheel arches are rusty as fuck but all stripped on koni adjustables its ace
