Few pics for you , finally got round to doing some serious hours on the shead ,

Bought as a semi started project but when i got it back to the workshop i found thet absoloutley everything was pissed , rotten or very badly made , so in the end i have actually done twice as much work needced to do a conversion like this , but ive saved another S1 even if its not for the purists ,

when finished itll have 300BHP of Focus RS engine , on cossy running gear , coil overs and a full colour change to moondust silver,ATB diff , Apexi boost controle , T4 , External wastegate, Gaz coilovers and NOS

as i bought it

bit of a shead

Made a spit

Rot and shoddy workmanship allover the place , Angle grinder time !!

The underside , complete new floorpan fabricated , not cut out of a siera , its also 1.5 inches closer to the floor which will be nice for handling and track use

Time for a fron end blast

etch primer

and another

seam sealer

Gravitex , so it lasts another 20 years

and the inner wings

inside floor pan

start of the paint base coat

Going into work today to apply the clear coat , including underneath .

Then its onto the rear , everything is in but waiting on a pair of new rear wings , fully weld it up , then paint the rest and start to bolt everything in , shouldnt be to long till its done , maybe out in it at the end of summer , Then start my Mk 1 escort
nice project IMO

Seems like a pointless exercise to me, that escort was a wreck in the first pictures. Surely it would have been better to get hold of a better condition base car.

Should be good when finished though.

thing is the majority of it is being cut away as its becoming a RWD zetec turbo, it would be wrong to cut up a mint one

It's a MK3 Escort but i very much DOUBT it's a Series 1... I have seen a S1 Stripped down and the Full shell was Diamond White and it had never recieved a Lick of paint as The owner was My uncle from brand new!! ... So Why has that got Blue all over the place???

and the grille isn't an s1 grille is it?
can't see why someone would go to the trouble to put a normal sheddy mk3 grille on it.

According to Ford the MK3 Escort Turbo Series 1 was only ever available in Diamond White on the Series 2 Came in different colours and the Three Colours you have mentioned.. Rosso Red, Mercury Grey and Black were all available on S2's

Cant See why ford Would take a Series 1 and paint it another colour tbh
