My car has been in the bodyshop about 5 weeks now, i already knew the guy was unreliable but he does a good job so i went back there again thinking 5 weeks would be plenty to get it done. Was supposed to be done last week, went to get it and he hadnt started, lots of apologies and excuses and he gave me his word it would be done by the 28th so i left it there again not having that much choice to get it done on time anywhere else. Rang a few times in the week at his work and home, no answer. left a message saying to ring me back and he didnt, came back from uni this weekend to get it, he wasnt tehre on friday, got through to him at home today at last and he hasnt even started it 
Its really messed up my plans now with PV and I duno what to do, either try and find somewhere that can do it in time which is unlikely, or just get the engine put in and drive it up there anyway and have a banner in the car somethign on the lines of "Thanks to Gary Lynes for finishing this on time!" Anyway, rant over

has he said if it will be done in time for PV?? Is he going to start on it soon?

its not gonna be done now unless i can find somewhere else to do it in time, but Im not going back there again, he doesnt deserve a penny of my money. To be honest Im probably going to be doing the engine instead so at least i can have a bit of fun on the way, and im sure people will understand its a work in progress, especially with a big sarcastic banner on it!

My car was in the bodyshop for over 3 weeks!!
It should of taken 1 week a most...
He didnt do anything for 2 and a half weeks and then done all the work in 2 days
Bring it along mate to pv still! You paid him any cash yet?

Not paid anything, but I did have to pay to get it towed there and also drove all the way back from uni to bring him some wing mirrors for it so it was done in time Ironic really.
Just spoken to J1400 and he's gonna come do the engine transplant on thursday, so looks like im gonna be there anyway with an unfinished car.

tell him either you want him to blister his hands working on it in time for PVS or you'll name and shame him everywhere (including max poo name and shame thingy) and take it back off him!

Fitting the kit, smoothing bits in, full respray, fixing cracked smooth boot that i bought, removing side repeaters and smoothing them over etc Im definately gonna have something naming and shaming him in my car, partly so people dont think im just a cheapskate who couldnt afford to finish the project (cos i always wonder how people can drive around all the time iwth a half done kit, looks stupid), and to piss him off. I was gonna take a photo of it on the car and put it under his door for him

when you get it back just before you leave go to shake his hand and when he reaches for it pull it away and stick ur tongue out, then run off laughing..... that'll piss him off

i feel your anger mate, 11weeks ago my car was off the road, 5weeks ago i had the redtop and all bits, my mate said it will be done in a week. 5 nearly 6 weeks later its no were near done
when people say they'll work on things why do they not stick to there word??
if i'd have known i'd have gone elsewere with it.

Exactly, its so annoying isnt it! He gave me his word that it would be done so stupidly i believed him, if he had just said then that it wouldnt be done then i could have just taken it somewhere else. Ah well, least I will have the engine in hopefully, and still be there! Then i can get it resprayed and fit the throttle bodies asap after.

what a crock of shite, I took my polo their too and the rust has started to come back through. Even when he said he would take it back to the bare metal.
Ah well, defenitly not going there if I ever decide to do anymore to my car.
Isn't there a place down the road from Gary's that does "body repair" or something?

I dunno mate, im gonna get it taken to somewhere more reputable even if it means paying more, im fed up with being messed around! Got some options of good ones in worcester too, and possibly up here in aber, ill let u know

drunkenfool im in exactly same boat mate dropped mine off nearly two weeks ago and he hasnt even started im so angry cos ive tried so hard to get it all done for pvs and spent serious money this month finally getting the car finished. will be gutted if i dont make it mine having full repsray to so unless he pulls his finger out big time i wont be there in mine

i also know this feeling!
my car was rammed n brokew into in march, was told to take it to body shop (Ford maindealer) on weds im thinkin great they gonna start the work, maybe have it done for PVS. so when i rang them they said no this is just an estimate.  they gotta send that back to insurance company n take it from there! i mean how fuckin long do they wanna take
