I was there today! I think I saw Corsa_Ash's car parked in the show area?
Got 0-60 in 6.98 secs - not that bad.

I think someone got a viddy - but I got my print out and graph showing my acceleration etc / to time.
6.98 isn't that quick though when you compare it to what a lot of those Gti's do.

Why's that hun? (though I am dubious hah).
book figures may say 8.2 - but as proven by Evo mag, the real standard 0-60 is around 7.4-7.8 secs. Mine's running around 134 bhp compared to 120 bhp - so is it that suprising I may of got a 6.98.
My other times were things like 7.3's - just that one I didn't change to 3rd to hit 60.

That's a perfect example... 2.0 16v corsa would pull probably flat 7 - mid 7 to 60.
But weighs a bit more than a 106, would pass and get a quicker 1/4 mile than a 106 gti.
I raced a 2.0 16v corsa with power cap the other day (he agreed to it) and I beat him off a standing start, he only starting catching in 4th... but I didn't want to go over 100 mph.
The engine may have been shagged? the driver said it had 180 bhp ... but still Xe power is Xe power.

PGAC stand mate. I was walking around and my mate was talking about the paint job on that black corsa - and I noticed a purple one with your wheels and imrscher air dam. I thought hmm that looks like Ash's car. but there was no one about - so thought nothing of it and carried on.
Lol where's Steve106Gti when you need him - His 106 Gti did 0-60 in about 6.5 secs and if you look on PGAC there are tonnes that do it sub 7 and sub 15 1/4 miles.
Does a 2.0 16v Corsa have to go to 3rd to hit 60 also? where as 106 can hit it in 2nd (6.98) or 3rd (7.38 seconds)

Thought you said that. Where was PGAC then, anywhere near that number plate shop thing?
Anyway, I imagine Nicks corsa would hit 60 in second, I'm not entirely sure tbh, he's usually long gone for me to notice

Peugeot Gti Auto Sport Club - they were the guys who arrange and organise French Car show The big one with all the 106's - yeh near the number plate place. I spent most of the day queueing though
It just makes me chuckle, that because it's me and it's not a 2.0 16v Corsa - my car can therefore not hit 60 in a time of 6.98 -> 7.3 secs Even though Standard (tested by evo) they can do it in 7.4
standard 1/4 mile I got 16.1 - 16.4's...
With the mods I've got now I'm getting mid 15's... Probably low 15's if I stripped it a bit and was actually good at changing gear with that floppy gear stick.

No offence mate, but when did you become a expert in Pug 106 Gti's and thus have the knowledge to judge whether a time is right or wrong. If you were a member of PGAC, you would notice for the mods I've done my 106 Gti is actually slower than most on there.
I won't judge things you do or say that I don't know about, and visa versa mate.

Sorry timing gear seems well out
All shane was emphasising was that it doesnt seem viable. You remember that time you was at the pod and you had your 106 with even the seats stripped out the back and the best you could manage was a 16.5?
Just showed my mate this and he has a 106 raylee on tb's he said no way you could do that with a filter and exhaust.
Also I rememeber Daimo at trax a few years back got a 0-60 of 5.85 secs this clearly wasnt right and shows the point timing gear can be out.
Not a dig mate just an observation
