We have fitted a new diff into the kit car, sierra type 9 with a 4.2.7 ratio, top end has been dropped by 10-15 mph, but my god does it go!
0-60 we timed as 4.0 seconds and 0-100 was about 9.7 seconds!
This was with one of them gps things unsure on name!
40-80 is just a few seconds its scary!!
I love the damn thing soo much!

And also the ultima we built and sold now holds the uks fastets 0-100-0 record of 9.8 seconds!!

Good thing about the kit car, u can do full throttle launches at 9k rpm and it wont spin, it just grips and youre at 35 mph within a second or 2, then into second and youre at 60 straight away!!!
The new one which will be at trax hopefully will be faster and much nicer!!

Yea, I was looking at a pic earlier and noticed the right hand gear change.
Why is it on the right?
Was the clutch heavy?
Also, was the ride as harsh as you'd expect?

ah sorry i didnt realise the ae86 was the model!!
yeh the gear change was ok but lumpy!
The locorage (green one) is the worst as is a race clutch and box, so it hardlt moves between gears! Plus the clutch is either up or down!!

Would it be a good idea to put a C20LET into a kit car and tune it to EDS phase 3?

nope turbo is not something you want in a kit car!
Thats why lots of people use cossie YB engines but take the turbo off, boost mid corner in a car that weighs 500 kg is not fun!!
Ive been in a cossie turbo dax rush, was soo fast but round corners driver said it was too twitchy to be able to push it!!
best configuration - were putting a honda s2000 engine on tb's into the new kitcar!!

Ah, thought that would be the case. Was wondering why I'd never seen a turbo'd one though...

xe's on tbs used to be the thing to have but now the price of the jap engines has come down so lots of people go that way, like us with the s2000
overall build cost of engine and tb's wont be much more than 6k, thats including 3k for engine box, diff and wiring!!
You spend 3k on a xe and try to get 300 bhp!!

Yea, £3k on an XE would only get you to about 210-220bhp...
I think I need a kit car, gonna wait til I get to uni and then build one from scratch I'll hopefully be on the way to being an engineer though by then....

Would a poopercharged engine be as bad?

Guess it would depend on chassis design.... Those Atoms have supercharged VTEC's in them... Though they are technically not a kit car.
