the day i got my new car i had brake problems

had the car 3 weeks and finally sorted it today

nice new discs, pads and calipers all round in the end

I had brakes done on my car. £80 for new discs and pads fitted. Got quoted £122 at Kwik Fit

thats cheap

over £200 just for the parts for mine

good job i have a doner car for the calipers as they are £100 a piece and nissan gave me the discs and pads as compensation

Yeh my mechanic charged me parts plus £20 labour. Gave me a deck of cards to hand out to my mates aswell

oh i see, im guna take it to ATS i think becoz they will do a free check, once im 100% its the brakes that are fucked its going back to the dealer to get fixed under warranty

Those Free checks are a rip off mate. I got mine done. Said the whole lot was fucked. Gave me a quote of £150. I kindly told them where to take their quote and backed the corsa off their ramps

hhmm, good point, but i only picked it up today, and he had it MOTd today?

Im confused as to how it pased the MOT cos the brakes are shocking!

Mine were 8.5m thick
Think the MOT is 9.7mm? Pads were snot aswell and I had lines and waves on the discs. I can PM you the Mechanic info tomorrow If you want.

best thing to do is find out whats wrong and go from there

have u tried taking the wheels off and having a look yourself???

go for a drive and when u get back look straight away and if its the brakes i can gaurentee u will know it

I was gunna take the wheels off and have a look, but to be honest i dont really know what to look for. Theres a smell of burning coming from the brakes and they are hot as fuck but i dont understand how the fuck it got through an MOT?

Just look down on the outer facing pad and see if there is any meat on it. Mine had none on the passengers side but a little on the Drivers so I could tell the difference.
