I had my eye on this one in Bristol was 10K

Also this Q plater with exige parts was 8K

Was only Q plated as needed new front end.

High mileage Elises are a no no IMO. Anything for 7-8k is going to be on of the very earliest, most high mileage examples you can find and/or will be a well tracked, tatty example.
Spend a bit more and get something with decent mileage, FSH, NO DAMAGE(!) etc.
I am buying a S2 Racetech. Even some of those I've been to look at (2yr old, 25k mileage, up for about 17k) are tatty up close and full of rattles etc. Always get a full independant inspection before buying.
Its right was Nis said about summer, surprising how much it affects residuals.

Also, ask on Pistonheads for advice on cheaper/older models. Theres a lot of knowledge on there about what to look out for.

If you want cheap, get a NA VX220 over a high mileage Elise.

No but you'll only get an absolute shitter for 7k anyway. You'd get a decent early S1 for 11-12k or a much newer, lower mileage VX for the same price.

I disagree ive drove one that was up for £9k and it was fine, your looking about £13k (almost half again) for an early VX220.....some people arnt prepared to stretch that far!!

I'd have a VX Turbo over any Elise except a 111R but I'd take any other Elise over a NA VX. The VX engine lacks fizz and feels lifeless especially at low revs compared to even the basic K series. Its definately not a patch on the VVI K series.
An interesting comparision would be the VXT against the 111R though I reckon the Elise tips it for me as it looks better and the Toyota engine is supposed to be a peach (never driven one myself - can confirm that the VXT is mega rapid though).

All those cars mentioned your looking at alot more money.......also for £18Kish I wouldnt buy either of those cars!
Early Elise would make a fun 2nd car though for 7 - 8k!!

s1 does look good although i have heard that alot of the early ones have lots of problems - leaking roofs etc etc
VX's are nice tbh, i recon you get alot for the cash - and ive also heard that the blower conversion (is it courtney that do it?) for the N/A Vx is meant to be pretty good

Theres one for £8k low miles and female Dr owner!! Yeah theres better cars out there but you have to pay the premium!! I doubt many people unless loaded could afford a VXT or elise111 as a 2nd car! If your planning one of these as your only car then your off your head - thats all im saying

Wouldn't have one as my only car. Even at 5'8 they're not too comfy and I wouldn't feel safe leaving it anywhere.
That one on eBay doesn't look too hot to me although the price isn't bad.

too hard to get in and out of for an everyday car. Especially if your tall. Plus they are too loud when travelling down the motorway. As a toy
