i only went to my local bodyshop to get a quote on colour coded door handles and remove the door strips.... £150

is it just me or is that fucking stupid. i even offered to remove the door handles so he could just spray em.

Remove your own bump strips, i did mine at the weekend with a mate an only took about an hour for each side its easy an doesnt cos you anything that way

Its called pricing yourself out of the market - he doesn't want the job. Either that or he's anticipating something going wrong and is building spare cash in to cover it. Remove the strips and door handles yourself (door handles guide in FAQ) and replace with delock rears from the back door of a scrapped red Vectra. Easy and cheaper, and colour match will be better.

Just like when you ring some companys for an insurance quote and they give you a stupid price it's because they don't want to insure you and if you do pay the price then they don't make as they've made an absolute killing

Just make sure you have an alarm with central locking cos you wont have any door locks

try it yourself, what you got to lose?

even buy a spare set to practice on, i did my handles with cans and they not that different, its when u do large flat areas that you start to notice the difference in finishes

i have sprayed my boot lock so i know how to do it. its just the colour was slightly off. halfords spray paint...it lies! vauxhall flame red my arse

i did my handles myself, took a few hours and cost me hardly anything. got the pain from vauxhall and they were perfect

Is smoke grey metalic? Metalic is normally easier to match due to it no fading.
