About 15 - 20 8mm holes on the underneath and about 6 in the side, its till pretty quiet but gives a nice note, just wandering do i need to make bigger holes for a louder note ? also should i keep the cold air feed pipe on or take it off ?

Thank you Rob

leave the holes as they are.
as for the cold airfeed leave that too, but what you can do is get an extra bit of ducting leading to the box.

If I drill some holes in my airbox, would it make a noise difference evan though I am running a standard filter and exhaust system? Also would it improve performance? I am looking to put a direct replacement K&N filter, but cant really afford it at the moment. Also sorry for all the questions, but how would it affect my petrol, and where abouts on the box would I drill holes and would I technically have to declare it on my insurance?

drill holes on the underside and the side furthest away from the engine, 8 and 12 mm holes, myne feels a bit more responsive on the throttle from doing it, no i wouldnt thing you would have to declare because what would you declare it as ? And im using a standard filter

it doesn't feel anymore more responsive. just sound a bit better because the sound resonates differently.

its all in the mind, sound makes you think you're going fast.

Thank you. Would it use anymore fuel and do I need to worry about water getting in the box?

Also is this the best option for a 1.6 sport? or would you save the cash and get a induction kit? or not drill holes and just put a direct replacement k&n filter on?

fuel - same
water into box - not unless you're drilling holes in the side of your car at same time
best option - viper but most expensive
average option - pipercross cheap induction
budget - drill and replace filter element
i'm very poor option - just drill
can't even afford a drill option - leave it

I think I will go for the budget option as I Just want to make a bit more of a noise. Before I start drilling I will try a find another air box in case I make a mistake or dont like it. Any ideas where I can pick one up cheap?

How much for your spare?

How much roughly would one cost from a scrappy, and would any corsa air box fit my car??
