How easy is it goin to be to do both paint and polished metal n a spark plug cover? i want the letters polished but the rest of it sprayed black. do i want to polish it up first and then mask the lestters and spray it?
what do i want to polish it up well, i no to go thru the grades of wet and dry, but what polish and any special tools?
also is it just the couple bolts to get it off and am i fine driving round without it on?
Thanks for any help

Metal polish and a lot of elbow grease. Its fine to drive without it on, its purely cosmetic.

Umm, i bought one that had been stripped, rocker cover as well, the lad said he would never do it himself again, too much like hard work. Buy some fcuking strong thinners and leave it to soak in that, then maybe try a wire brush on a drill, carefull around the lettering tho!

Take it to a dippers/polishers - simple, no blisters and for the hours you spend sanding you can be earing the ££'s doing your job instead...

laquer them both. When spraying it on, make sure you get a good shine off the paint before leaving it to dry.

no dont polish the paint or the laquer wont stick!
use a very fine wet and dry on the paint before the laquer, u need to put the laquer on thick enough to not get the orange-peel-effect but not so thick that it runs

Did you have to use special paint? Just thinking about the heat that gets generated.

yeah the paint has to be laquered to make it shine. take your time and do a proper job, if you dont and miss bits, you will end up doing it again.
