Can you get the alarm back
Bit of a shitter loosing out on a new cat 1 alarm if not
If insurance companys demand you have one then they should either pay out for it or give it back

Alarms are quite hard to reinstall again,
all the wires would be spliced into the ignition etc etc etc
Would have alot of work involved in taking one out

Phone them and ask them if you may have it if your cars wrote off
If they say no then take it anyway

a mate of mine had his car written off and he asked if he could keep the car, and they said they would only have to pick it up and scrap it anyway so let him keep it!

Cat 1 alarms are not designed to be re-installed in a new vehicle. Remind me - were you at fault? If not then you would have reasonable grounds to suggest that they increase the offer to cover the alarm.
You technically CANNOT pilfer bits from a written off car as its no longer yours. I personally wouldn't without approving it. It can be sorted out later rather than prejudicing the case now.

Some cars are written off because of the age of the car, but some people buy there cars back and sell for a profit. I.e my brother did this on his cav got paid out and sold it for the engine and interior this 1.
