if u were half decent with a spanner you can put in an xe yourself for under £500 that including the engine...

obviously there would be no new parts put on it... IE CAM BELT

Which your be engine suicide... for all the price a belt is..

why not buy a 1.4 16v engine and do that conversion? more worthwhile, and insurance is still cheap

i was only asking cause ive been offerd the engine with new parts and it has been re-built also has gearbox and exhaust all for £70 so wanted to know if it was worth it cause the 1.2 8v corsa is slow as fook

i wouldnt bother..... at least a 1.6 if your going to go to the bother of converting and even then you will have a pain in your fanny with it in a short space of time...

and yes i did drive a 1.2 8v.... for to long

You'd be able to sell your corsa and buy an SRi for less money than doing the conversion.

It can be done, very easy as well.

But remember that the Corsa is injection and the Nova is carb so you may run into problems there.

1.6 GTE engine would be most worthwhile. Could keep existing mounts, exhaust, and driveshafts, saving money there. Would prob be about 100 quid for engine and ancilliaries, then a tenner for an MPI fuel pump?

Yes its a good conversion to do for your 1.4 8v SRi owners and 1.2 8v owners.

Yes, fit a cam and a new exhaust, have it mapped looking at 115bhp.

Good engine, very lively low down, has'nt the torque of the 16v engine but still a good realible engine.
